New Delhi, Dec 5: Union Communications Minister Manoj Sinha on Wednesday congratulated ISRO scientists for successful launch of GSAT 11 and said the satellite would bring revolution in the telecommunication sector.
Mr Sinha said GSAT11 is the next generation high throughput communication satellite. It is important to provide high speed broadband services across the country.
“Congratulations to scientists of ISRO for the successful launch of heaviest satellite GSAT 11 from Kourou Launch Zone, French Guiana, Mr Sinha said on the sidelines of a function here.
The Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) heaviest and most-advanced high throughput communication satellite GSAT-11 was successfully launched from the Spaceport in French Guiana during the wee hours of Wednesday. The satellite would give a big push to improve the broadband connectivity to rural and inaccessible gram panchayats in the country.
The launch vehicle Ariane 5 VA-246 lifted off from Kourou Launch Base, French Guiana at 02.07 hrs carrying India’s GSAT-11 and South Korea’s GEO-KOMPSAT-2A satellites, as scheduled. (UNI)
