New Delhi, Nov 6: Ayurveda departments will be opened in 19 new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik announced on Monday.
'Work is already on to start Ayurveda departments in hundred ESIC hospitals under the Labour ministry. Further, approval has been received from the Home ministry to open Ayurveda departments in seven hospitals for BSF and other para military forces,' he said inaugurating the 3rd Ayurveda Day here along with Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr Harshvardhan.
This year, he said, his ministry has taken steps to fulfil the theme ‘Ayurveda for public health’ and further expand the coverage of the National Programme of ‘Prevention of Non Communicable Disease’ from existing six states.
To enhance entrepreneurship in Ayurveda and AYUSH sector, he said his ministry will organise 50 workshops in collaboration with MSME ministry.
Nearly 800 participants from across the country are attending the main function of 3rd Ayurveda Day. (UNI)
