New Delhi, Nov 5: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday, was acquitted of defamation charges leveled by an aide of his predecessor Ms Sheila Dikshit.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal after hearing a criminal defamation complaint case filed by an aide of Ms Dikshit passed an acquittal order in favour of Mr Kejriwal on the grounds of lack of evidence.
Pawan Khera, the then Political Secretary of Shiela Dikshit, had alleged that Kejriwal's remarks against the Indian National Congress leader during power tariff hike protests in October 2012 were defamatory. Khera, a Congress spokesperson, had alleged that Mr Kejriwal used objectionable language while talking about Ms Dikshit during a television show. (UNI)
