New Delhi, Oct 11: In a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the controversial Rafale deal, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi , alleging that the PM put Rs 30000 cr into the pocket of industrialist Anil Ambani , called him 'corrupt' and the 'chowkidar' of the industrialist.
In a special press conference here, the Congress president , referring to a recent statement by a senior executive of the Rafale company that the PM had asked that Rs 30000 cr compensation be paid to Anil Ambani as a prerequisite for the deal between the two countries, said, 'the statement by the senior executive of the Rafale company, coming close on the heels of the statement made by former France President Francois Hollande, shows that PM is the 'Chowkidar' (gatekeeper) of Anil Ambani. Now it has been proved that the PM , who came to power in 2014 on the plank of removing corruption, is himself corrupt.'
Quoting the French media reports that Rafale company’s senior executive has clearly said that choosing Anil Ambani’s company was a ‘compensation for the purchase’ of Rafale, Mr Gandhi alleged that PM put Rs 30000 cr into the pockets of the industrialist.
“Earlier former French president said that the Prime Minister of India only selected Mr Ambani’s firm for the deal. Now senior official of Rafale has said the same. It’ a clear cut case of corruption”, he said.
“I want to tell this country’s youth that our Prime Minister is a corrupt man”, Mr Gandhi added. (UNI)
