Lucknow, Oct 9: A special local court in the city has issued non-bailable warrant against Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Women Welfare Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi in an old case of 2010.
The case is related to violation of the election model code of conduct and the court had issued several bailable warrant against the politician but she did not appear in the court leading to this action.
Special judge Pawan Kumar Tiwari issuing the non-bailable warrant here on Tuesday said that the the case was pending since 2011.
The court had issued the summon on February 14, 2011 and later bailable warrant was issued.
Ms Joshi in the case has been alleged of violating Section 144 of the CrPC during an election meeting in Lucknow.
The case was lodged at Wazirganj police station, when Ms Joshi was chief of the UP Congress. (UNI)
