Divya Spandana denies being sacked by Rahul Gandhi

For former actor and Congress IT Cell head Divya Spandana aka Ramya, it was a day of ordeals. Social media on Wednesday aggressively spread the message that she was sacked from the post of Congress IT Cell head by Rahul Gandhi for derogatory social media post regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Social media was on rage with this news after ‘Times Now’ breaking the news about Divya Spandana’s resignation as Congress IT Cell Head for trolling PM Modi.

Her contract was set to renew on 1st October for next two years but it was not renewed as expected. Soon the rumours spread that the Congress President Rahul Gandhi was not willing to employ her. But rejecting the Social Media rumours, Divya Spandana on Wednesday outrightly denied her ‘resignation news’.

The controversy over her tweet against PM Modi on the Rafale deal had broken out in September 2018. Uttar Pradesh police had registered an FIR against Divya Spandana for tweeting an offensive photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Rafale jet controversy. She was booked under Section 124-A of the Indian Penal Code (sedition) and Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act for a tweet calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “thief”. After the case was registered, from September 29, she hasn’t posted anything on Twitter or Facebook.

Earlier there was report that Rahul Gandhi was angry towards her for not apologizing for the derogatory comment on Prime Minister Modi.
