New Delhi, Sep 30: Oil marketing companies increased the price of petrol and diesel for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday.
In the four major metro cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, petrol prices increased by 9-10 paise and diesel became expensive by 16 to 18 paise per litre.
In Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, petrol rates rose by 9 paise to Rs 83.49, Rs 85.30 and Rs 90.84 per litre, respectively. In Chennai, petrol was up 10 paise to settle at Rs 86.80 per litre.
Diesel prices in Delhi and Chennai rose by 16 paise to Rs 74.79 and Rs 79.08 per litre respectively. In Mumbai, diesel was costlier by 17 paise to Rs 79.40 per litre and in Kolkata, diesel rates increased by 18 paise to Rs 76.64 per litre.
So far in September, petrol has been costlier by Rs 4.97 in Delhi, Rs 4.91 in Mumbai and Rs 5.22 in Chennai.
Diesel prices have increased by Rs 4.58 in Delhi, Rs 4.86 in Mumbai and Rs 4.89 in Chennai. (UNI)
