Kolkata, Oct 01: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh On Monday made it clear that the country would never compromise with any force such as Maoists, extremists and terror outfits.
Addressing after chairing the 23rd Eastern Zonal Council meeting at the State Secretariat, Nabanna, Mr Singh said, ' The security forces are ready for any eventuality and equipped to face every challenge from the Maoists, extremists and terroists.
' The states have been asked to identify the Rohingyas, their biometric details and submit those to the Centre, ' he said adding, ' After getting details of the Rohingyas residing in the country, the Centre would start diplomatic negotiation with Myanmar fo the deportation of the Rohingya refugees.
On deployment of Central forces, Mr Singh said, ' The Centre has compulsion when the Election Commission demands for providing forces. However, the redeployment provision is also there. ' The Union Home Minister was replying to a query as the State Government often alleged that the Centre withdrew forces without consulting the state.
He informed that the advance payment for the deployment of Central forces had been done away with.Singh said in today's meeting out of 30 issues, 26 have been solved. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, her Jharkhand counterpart Raghubar Das, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Odisha Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera. (UNI)
