Pune, Sep 30: Thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning, is very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, south Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, south Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala during next 24 hours, predicted the Indian Meteorological Department in a bulletin here today.
The Met said that heavy rain is very likely at isolated spots of Tamil Nadu during the period. Sea is likely to be rough to very rough along and off coasts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, south Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra and West Bengal during next 24 hours, warned the Met.
The Southwest Monsoon was weaker over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours.
Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many quarters in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka and Kerala during past 24 hours. (UNI)
