Rahul slams student activists affiliated to BJP for insulting college professor

New Delhi, Sep 29: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed students activists in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh belonging to the ruling BJP for insulting a college professor.

Posting a video of an incident in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh in which a professor at the College was seen running after protesting students trying to touch their feet, Rahul said,’’the insult of a teacher by students leaders in Mandsaur belonging to the ruling party . In a country where teachers are treated as God, what kind of values are reflected when students threaten a teacher and the teacher is touching their feet. What kind of treatment is this with a treasure house of knowledge?’’

The video, which has gone viral on the social media, shows students trying to dodge the professor in the college corridor.

According to reports, ABVP students, who were protesting the delay in their fourth semester BSc results, shouted slogans outside a classroom. When Professor Dinesh Gupta, who was teaching, tried to stop them and asked them not to raise slogans, the protesters allegedly threatened him with a police case. Professor Gupta then started touching the feet of the protesters. (UNI)
