New Delhi, Sep 11: Making use of the former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, BJP on Tuesday flayed Congress saying the UPA dispensation headed by Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi led a government that attacked the "very core of the Indian banking system".
Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani said Raghuram Rajan pointed out that between 2006-08, the UPA functioning led to increased NPAs in India's banking structure. "The Congress was exposed yesterday. Raghuram Rajan's statement clearly proves that it is Congress who is responsible for increased NPA," she told reporters here.
Referring to tax evasion case, she said Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra and Sonia Gandhi wanted to sabotage the taxpayer's money. She said now the onus is on the Congress president to explain things to the nation on the 'National Herald' case.
Sharpening attack against Rahul Gandhi, against whom she contested from Amethi in 2014, Ms Irani said,"Rahul Gandhi has no issues hugging the Prime Minister Narendra Modi but he doesn't want to meet I-T officials". UNI
