Activists to hold Ganga-Meet on 16th

New Delhi, Sep 11: Activists from different parts of the country will hold a "Ganga Meet" in the capital here on September 16 to express solidarity with the octogenarian environmentalist Prof G D Agrawal (Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand) who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the cause of the holy river in Kankhal-Haridwar for the past 81 days.

"We will hold a Ganga Sammelan for drawing strategy for saving the river from impact of pollution and the life of the fasting saint Prof Agrawal", one of the organisers of the meet, water activist Dr Rajendra Singh said.

'We are all worried about the health of the 87-year old IIT professor-turned-sanyaasi, who has lost 18 Kg weight since start of his "fast-unto-death" on June 22," Singh told UNI over telephone. (UNI)
