Hyderabad, Sep 10: Bharat bandh, called by the Congress and Left Parties to protest against the hike in petrol and diesel prices was normal in Telangana while it affected normal life in Andhra Pradesh.
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) was non-commital over the bandh in Telangana while the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh had extended indirect support by taking part in the bandh along with left parties, Congress and other supported organizations. However, the main Opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh stayed away from the bandh, stating that it was ‘politically' motivated.
State-owned RTC buses in Andhra Pradesh restricted to depots while the TSRTC plyied its servies partially in Telangana.Business establishments and schools were closed in Andhra Pradesh while it was partial in Telangana. In Telangana , Congress workers staged protests infront of bus depots in Bhongir ( Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district) , Dilsukhnagar and Musheerabad in Hyderabad and Medhcal in Nalgonda district against the fuel price hike.
Security has been tightened in both telugu states in view of the Bandh. Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) has declared holiday for private schools in the State. However, government and aided schools were running as usual. No untoward incidents were reported from anywhere in both the Telugu states so far. (UNI)
