Improved logistics can deliver gains: Report

New Delhi, Sep 7: Improved logistics can deliver gains in three broad categories -- economic, social, and environmental and policy and costs can be reduced by 4 per cent of GDP - equivalent to Rs 1.77 lakh crore, according to a report on efficient movement of goods.

The report by NITI Aayog and US based think-tank Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the plenary session of the Global Mobility Summit on Friday.

The report titled, 'Goods on the Move: Efficiency and Sustainability in Indian Logistics', offers in depth analysis on India’s rapidly evolving logistics and freight systems and highlights solutions to increase efficiency and revenues, while lowering emissions. (UNI)
