Ban Ki Moon lauds AAP govt’s healthcare initiatives

New Delhi, Sep 7: Praising AAP government’s healthcare initiatives, former United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on Friday said Mohalla Clinics and Polyclinics are the examples of what Governments and politicians should do for the people.

The former UN Secretary General made this statement after he, along with other delegations of ‘The Elders’ (a global organisation working on peace and human rights) team including former Norway Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland, visited the Delhi Government’s Mohalla Clinic and Polyclinic here on Friday.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendar Jain accompanied the delegation to the clinics. The first clinic visited by the delegation was the Peeragarhi Relief Camp where they were briefed on the working of the Mohalla Clinic, the facilities available and patient profile.

The delegation then visited the Polyclinic in Paschim Vihar where they interacted with the doctors to understand the working and to see the quality of care being provided. (UNI)
