President Kovind addresses Indian diaspora in Bulgaria

Sophia (Bulgaria), Sep 5: President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday addressed the Indian community in Bulgaria and described them as a "true reflection of India's diversity and culture".

"Living bridges between countries. President Kovind addressed Indian community in Bulgaria today and appreciated them as a true reflection of India's diversity, culture and traditions and living bridge between the two countries," MEA Spokesman Raveesh Kumar posted on socio-microblogging site, Twitter.

Kovind was also given the ceremonial welcome here. 'Bulgaria welcomes President of India, Mr Kovind accorded ceremonial welcome in Bulgaria at a landmark location Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia,' Kumar further tweeted.

During his stay in Bulgaria, highlighting India's soft power at a global platform and underlining the importance of education to bring about the 'shared prosperity', President Kovind will be delivering a special lecture to the students of University of Sophia in Bulgaria, on the occasion of Teachers' Day, on Wednesday.

The topic of the lecture is 'Education as an instrument of Change and Shared Prosperity'. Kovind is on a tour of Central Europe, starting September 2 and will cover three countries of Cyprus, Bulgaria and Czech. (UNI)
