Centre should resolve situation arising from Hardik’s fast: Shatrughan Sinha

New Delhi, Sep 5: Rebel BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday appealed to the Centre and the Gujarat government, to resolve the situation arising out of the fast by Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), leader Hardik Patel, demanding loan waivers for farmers and quota for Patidars.

In a series of tweets, Sinha also appealed to Hardik to call off his fast in national interest and in the interest of the people of Gujarat. 'Today, along with brother & statesman Yashwant Sinha, met the young, dedicated & determined social activist, leader of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), Hardik Patel in Ahmedabad. He has been on fast since last 12 days, demanding loan waiver for farmers and quota for Patidars.

Many political leaders from different parties have supported the cause. A humble appeal to both the state govt and Central govt to take heed of the sensitive situation & help resolve this delicate and important matter soon, sooner the better,' Sinha tweeted.

'My humble appeal! Please end the fast in the national interest in general & Gujarat in particular. You have a long way to go. Jai Hind,' the BJP leader added.

Hardik had begun his indefinite fast on August 25, demanding reservation and farm loan waiver for the Patidars. The agitation has evoked support from many political parties. (UNI)
