New Delhi, Sep 3: As the BJP emerged as second largest party in the local body polls in Karnataka with 875 seats, party president Amit Shah thanked people of the state for their trust and continued support for the BJP.
Terming the alliance between the Congress and the JD (S), which emerged with the largest number of seats in the elections, as an 'opportunistic' one, Mr Shah said this alliance in the state won’t come in the way of PM Modi.
'Heartily thank our sisters and brothers of Karnataka for their trust and continued support for the BJP. I want to assure the people of Karnataka, that this opportunistic alliance in state won’t come in the way of PM @narendramodi and BJP working for the betterment of the state,' he said in a tweet.
The Congress, which has formed an alliance government with the JD(s) , emerged as the largest party in the local body polls with 946 seats, while the BJP was on second spot with 875 seats and JD (s) was third with 375 seats. UNI
