Both Delhi and Bengaluru airports have found a place in the list of the world's top 10 fastest growing airports released by Routesonline, a global airline events organiser.
While Bengaluru airport occupied the second place, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport came in at the sixth spot. In the first half of the 2018, Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport saw the presence of 1.58 crore passengers, which means an increase of 41.8 lakh passengers against the same period last year.
Around 3.49 crore passengers have flown from Delhi during the first half (January to June) of 2018. The growth in the passengers is around 32.7 lakh. As far as passenger growth is concerned, Bengaluru has clocked 9 lakh more passengers than Delhi Airport.
Tokyo's Haneda Airport tops the list with 4.32 crore passengers in the first half of 2018. During this period Haneda added around 43 lakh more passengers. Jakarta, Chicago and Madrid are on the third, fourth and fifth positions respective in growth. Dallas Fort Worth (7th), Los Angeles (8th), Frankfurt (9th) and Nanchang (10th) are the other airports included in the list of fastest growing airports.
