In a rare ruling Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu expunged on Friday remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upper house that were found to be objectionable according to reports.
Some members took objection to the remarks by PM Modi while referring to B.K. Hariprasad, candidate of the opposition for the post of Deputy Chairman . Chairman Naidu had said on Thursday that he will look into the remarks and see if there was anything objectionable. The remarks were made by PM Modi while felicitating the newly elected Rajya Sabha Dy. Chairman, Harivansh on Thursday.
Hariprasad had said that PM Modi had lowered the dignity of the House and it was unfortunate.
Chairman had also expunged a word uttered by Union Minister, Ramdas Athwale, during the discussions.
