Mentally unstable man enters Kerala House, Delhi with knife

A 46 year old mentally unstable man on Saturday was caught as he allegedly entered Kerala House in the national capital carrying a knife. The incident took place on Saturday morning, while Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was present in the Kerala House.

As per the police, the man is mentally unstable according to the papers that were in his possession.

He was identified as Vimal Raj, a resident of Kandantharayil Kadavoor, Karippuzha, Kerala, and was sent to Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences at Shahdara in East Delhi.

Reacting sharply over the incident, senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor condemned it saying that such attempted assault on the CM is a matter of great concern, further calling on the PMO to send a strong message in this regard to all in the democracy that there is no place for knives, guns and mob lynching.
