MPs must have bigger say in deciding tourism: RSP

Members of Parliament should have a crucial say in identifying and in deciding the work progress related to centrally sponsored schemes, RSP MP N K Premachandran said in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

Asking supplementary questions pertaining to the Ministry of Tourism during Question Hour, Premchandran said while it is appreciable that the Centre is taking note of suggestions and recommendations from the state governments on tourism projects, it would be only prudent that the points of views of the elected lawmakers should also be entertained.

Amid support by members cutting across party lines, the Kollam MP from Kerala said, "My request is not only for Tourism ministry, it should happen with all ministries and for all centrally-sponsored schemes". (UNI)
