The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three person,s including a tout, for allegedly helping/alluring prospective candidates in qualifying NEET Examination-2018.
"Three private persons (including a tout and two others) were arrested on allegations of their involvement in illegally helping/alluring prospective students and their parents in qualifying NEET examination conducted on May 6, 2018 and for securing admissions in various Government & private colleges across India," the probe agency said here on Tuesday.
The CBI said it was alleged that their acts could lead to sabotage of the examination system. The probe agency said that searches were conducted at residential and official premises of the accused in Delhi, Khurja (Uttar Pradesh) and Ludhiana (Punjab) which led to recovery of various incriminating documents including original educational certificates, admit cards pertaining to prospective candidates of NEET examination, blank amount filled cheques, rubber stamps of some educational institutions.
The arrested accused were produced in the Court of CMM (West), Tis Hazari Courts here and remanded to police custody upto May 11, it stated. The CBI said it had registered a case on May 6 under section 120B r/w 511 r/w 420 of IPC against four private persons, residents of Delhi, Khurja (UP) and Ludhiana (Punjab) on a complaint received from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
