A day after Rahul Gandhi slammed the Narendra Modi government alleging that the country’s poor continue to live in “Modi maya (illusion), the BJP leader and Union Minister Babul Supriyo on Monday mocked at the Congress chief saying each speech by him in effect gives BJP a "huge leap".
"One Speech by Rahul Gandhiji and a huge leap for BJP (towards a Congress-Mukt Bharat)," Supriyo tweeted rather in a sarcastic manner. Making a blistering attack on the Prime Minister at the Congress plenary, Gandhi had also said it was curious to note that corrupt people in business or in cricket share similar surname with that of Narendra Modi.
"Nirav Modi who carried out India’s biggest theft has the same name as our Prime Minister. It is an interesting fact. The most corrupt man in cricket also shares the same name as our Prime Minister," Gandhi has said.
On Sunday itself, the BJP lashed out at the Congress president calling his speech the "rhetoric of a loser". "It sounds like the rhetoric of a loser devoid of substance," Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told reporters.
"A party which questioned the fundamental existence of 'Shree Ram' today wants to be identified with the Pandavas," she has mocked taking potshot at Gandhi's speech for referring to mythology Mahabharata. (UNI)
