RS adjourned after ruckus over AP, Cauvery, sealing issues

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm on Monday amid uproar by the Opposition over issues pertaining to their respective states.

As soon as the papers were laid, the law-makers from Telugu Desam Party(TDP), Yuvajana Shramika Rythu (YSR) Congress, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members rushed to the Well and shouted slogans in support of their demands.

The TDP members were sloganeering and displaying placards for immediate implementation of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. They were also supported by their rival YSR Congress party. Sanjay Singh of AAP was shouting for stoppage of sealing drive which is continuing across the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The major parties from Tamil Nadu that include AIADMK and DMK were demanding constitution of Cauvery Management Board(CMB) in line with Supreme Court's verdict.

The Apex Court, on February 16, had ordered the central government to set up the Cauvery Management Board and the Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee within six weeks.
