According to Mumbai International Airport authorities actress Sridevi’s mortal remains are expected to reach Mumbai on Sunday night either by Cargo or by private jet.
Sridevi’s sudden demise at Dubai has left not only the film fraternity but all of India shocked. Tributes and condolences have been pouring in from every nook and corner of the country showing how she had endeared herself through her movies in a long innings spanning 5 decades.
She had gone to Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwaha’s wedding. Her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Kushi had accompanied her while Jahnvi had stayed back in Mumbai because of her shooting schedule. In Dubai they were staying at Jumeirah Emirate Tower Hotel. After the wedding, Sreedevi was found lying in the washroom of the hotel after midnight. She had suffered a heart attack and had fallen unconscious. She was rushed to the Rashid Hospital but was declared brought dead.
As Bollywood mourns the death of its first woman super star, the family is making preparations for her funeral on Monday.
At Dubai, the Indian embassy was doing its best to expedite the journey of the popular actress’s mortal remains from Dubai to Mumbai. They were working with the local authorities to complete all formalities at the earliest so that the body may be repatriated. When last heard of, the consulate was awaiting forensic and lab reports.
The actor’s body is currently at the police headquarters morgue in Al Qusais. As she died of cardiac arrest and it was declared a natural death, there will be little possibility of a post mortem.
Indian ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri had tweeted earlier in the day,’Our consulate in Dubai is working with local authorities to provide all possible assistance.’
