Coming down heavily on the Congress Party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday predicted that it will have one Chief Minister in South after June.

Addressing a public meeting in Puducherry, Modi said Congress will lose in the elections in North-East and also in Karnataka. Then, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy will be left in South.

He said our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had ruled the country for 17 years and his daughter (Indira Gandhi) for 14 years after him. Later her son (Rajiv Gandhi) ruled the country for five years and a 'remote country' rule was there from 2004 to 2014. In toto, the governance was under a single family for 48 years directly or indirectly.

The BJP-led NDA regime will reach 48 months in May and the intellectuals of the country should compare what Congress party did in 48 years and what the BJP did in 48 months.

The Prime Minister said many countries attained freedom along with us or very near to our freedom. Many of these countries have developed much and it is time that we should think why we failed to achieve development on par with them, he said.

He also charged that the subsequent governments in Puducherry had done injustice to the people. They failed to utilize the people power, Modi said.
