Now the gay sex issue regarding with 377 sections is on the ground of larger SC bench. The Supreme Court on Monday has decided to leave the gay sex issue to the consideration of Supreme Court larger bench.

Now the larger bench of the Supreme Court will review its 2013 decision that gay sex in India is a crime. In 2013, the Supreme Court had cancelled a high court order that had decriminalized homosexuality by overturning a colonial-era law.

The larger SC Bench will now start hearing LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) activists to get their angle about the issue.

The court today said the decision needs to be reconsidered because of constitutional issues. "We think it appropriate to send this issue to a larger bench," the court said.

"Sex between two consenting adults can be crime and it needs to be debated," said the top court.
