CPI-M says 2G verdict raises more questions

Pennews

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Thursday reacted to the CBI special court verdict on the 2G spectrum case, saying it raised ''more questions than answers''.

Holding that since the CBI case and prosecution had proved inadequate, the Left party demanded that steps must be taken immediately to pursue the matter legally, so that those who are guilty are punished.

The party Politburo said in a statement here that according to the Comptroller and Auditor General the allocation of 2G spectrum had caused a big loss calculated to be Rs.1,76,000 crore.

It pointed out that the Supreme Court had indicted some of the telecom companies involved for misuse of the allocations and cancelled the licences of concerned companies.
