Rajni Kant Mishra today took over as Director General Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) . He took charge from the first woman head of a paramilitary force Archana Ramasundaram at the force headquarters.
Mishra, a UP Cadre IPS officer of 1984 batch, prior to taking over the charge of DG SSB, was serving as ADG BSF Headquarters. He has also worked on important deputations as IG, ADG BSF at Frontier Headquarters in Tripura and South Bengal.
As a decorated officer, Mishra is a recipient of Police Medal in 2003 and Prestigious President Police Medal in 2009.
Ramasundaram, the first ever woman DG in the country to command a paramilitary force achieved superannuation today after serving as an Indian Police Service officer for a period of 37 years.
