All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), one of the parties in the Triple Talaq issue in the Supreme Court, today welcomed the judgement upholding the fundamental rights of the Muslims by declaring the law as unconstitutional.AIMPLB would be meeting in Bhopal on September 10 to discuss on the SC ruling on Triple Talaq and the new format of Nikahnama to prevent it, the board said.

On the judgement of the five judges bench of the court, senior counsel and member of AIMPLB Zafar Ayeb Jilani told reporters, "We are happy that the court has declared triple talaq as ultra vires..."Lauding the judgement, he said it has enhanced respect of the people for the judiciary, besides strengthening secularism, democracy and rule of law. AIMPLB would now go for hectic campaigning to bring down the malice of triple talaq through social reforms. "We would propose to include Triple talaq in one sitting and it could be included in the Nikahnama, while the Quazi, who solomonises nikahs, would be asked to make people aware that talaq in one sitting is Gunah (crime) in Islam," he added.
