Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die today marking the completion of the Monsoon session of Parliament.Thanking the Members for their cooperation in conduct of the House, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said as many as 14 Bills were passed during the session - that had got underway on July 17.
She also said 17 new Bills were introduced in the House during the session.The Speaker added that besides conducting normal legislative business, the Monsoon session this year also saw a special discussion on 75 years of Quit India Movement.The session this year was also punctuated with the voting by Members for election of the President and the Vice President.

The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned sine die after a four-week-long Monsoon session , that saw 19 sittings of the House.New Chairman of the Upper House M Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House sine die after a welcome accorded to him by the members.Naidu described the session as a 'productive' one which saw the passage of nine government Bills.
