Nagaland Govt issues SOP for stranded persons in state

Kohima, May 5: The Government of Nagaland has issued a set of Standard Operation Protocols (SOPs) for movement of persons from outside the state who are stranded in Nagaland following the lockdown imposed for COVID-19. According to the SOPs, the Deputy Commissioners of the districts of Nagaland have been designated as the Nodal Authority for sending out stranded persons from other states to their respective states and Union Territories.

Additionally, an empowered group for COVID-19 control room consisting of Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner Sentiyanger Imchen; Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha; Additional Director General of Police Renchamo and Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Anthony Ngully, will coordinate the movement of inter-state stranded persons.

According to the SOPs, no persons shall be allowed leave without obtaining proper permit from the respective state or district authority. It also stated that permit for movement shall be issued only when the receiving has consented and payment is made by the person himself or the receiving State Government. (UNI)
