Kohima, Dec 5: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Union Tourism Minister K Alphons on Wednesday participated in the stone pulling ceremony at Chhechema Village near here.
Stone pulling ceremony is an important festival of the Angami Naga Tribe. Mr Rio belongs to Angami tribe from northern Angami Naga Hills region.
The stone pulling ceremony is organised in connection with ongoing Hornbill festival in the state.
It is linked to merry making of fun loving Nagas and also reflects Naga sense of unity of purpose; hard-work and bravery.
The 20 ton kg stone would be taken to nearby Chiephobozou village.
Hundreds of village youth, including senior citizens men and women in traditional attire, participated in the mega event. (UNI)
