Maruti Suzuki has launched a new version swift car with a starting price tag of Rs.5 lakh on Thursday. The new model anticipated by the customers for a long time was launched at the Auto Expo 2018.
The hatchback comes at a starting price (ex-showroom Delhi) of Rs 4.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.96 for the top variant. The company broke the news about the new Swift’s pricing just ahead of the official announcement. The new Swift is available in 12 variants and six colour options.
Bookings for the new Swift already opened in January. The 6-8 week waiting period is estimated for the car. The car is available in both petrol and diesel variants along with automatic transmission options. There is no change in the engines- the 1.2-litre K-series petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel will power the new Swift.
One of the most successful brands, The Swift first arrived in India in 2005. For a period of last 12 years, Maruti has sold around 18 lakh units of the car. Swift is among the top five selling cars in India. In the hatchback segment, Swift is the leading brand.
