New Delhi, Oct 12 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condoled the demise of Dominic Jala, the Archbishop of Shillong.
He expressed that he was anguished over the passing away of Dominic Jala who "will be remembered for his impeccable service to the society and his passion for the same cause."
'Anguished by the passing away of Most Rev Dominic Jala, the Archbishop of Shillong. He will be remembered for his impeccable service to society and passion towards Meghalaya’s progress. May his soul rest in peace,' the PM tweet said on Saturday.
Rev Dominic Jala passed away following a car crash in Oakland, California on October 11. Born on July 12 1951, Jala was appointed Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong, India on 22 December 1999.(UNI)
