Covid-19 cases reach 282 in Manipur

Imphal, Jun 9 : The total number of Covid 19 positive cases has increased to 282 and the number of active cases to 218. The number of recovered cases is 64. Social distancing and wearing of face mask are very effective non-medical means to prevent the spread of Covid 19, said Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director & Spokesperson Health Department, Manipur. He added that public including Quarantine Centres inmates should adopt these means to protect themselves and others from Covid 19. Last night, 10 persons (1 M, 9 F) were confirmed as COVID 19 positive cases at the VRDL of RIMS. They were from Kamjong (1) and Noney (9) districts.

They were returnees from Delhi (4), Kerala (4), Bengaluru (1) and Mumbai (1). They will be shifted to Covid Care facilities in Imphal. The concerned district authorities have taken up all necessary precautionary measures. Six active cases undergoing treatment in RIMS were tested yesterday and found Covid 19 free on RT PCR test. They were discharged today. They will remain under home quarantine for the next 14 days. (UNI)
