One more test positive in Manipur taking toll to 27

Imphal, May 23 : A fresh Covid-19 case was detected late on Friday night taking the number of cases in Manipur to 27. Of the 27, the state has active 23 cases as four people have recovered from the disease till date. While two of the recoveries took place in April, two more - a woman and her son-- recovered in the RIMS Covid centre on Friday. The latest case is a 26-year-old man from Imphal west district.

He reached Jiribam on May 13 from Chennai. He displayed symptoms like stuffy nose and mild cough. His sample was collected on May 19. He has now been admitted to the Covid Care facility, RIMS. All others of the same quarantine centre tested negative for the virus.

About 112 samples were tested last night at VRDL, RIMS, said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director & Spokesperson of state Health Department (UNI)
