Imphal, Aug 5 : Manipur Arts and Culture Minister Karam Shyam today said many organizations are preserving our indigenous history, identity, religion, culture and traditions.
He further said, there is a strong need to analyse history, rectify the past mistakes and create a new, better indigenous culture that will sow the seeds of human civilization.
The minister also said that nowadays people even represent their nations in United Nations Conference by wearing their traditional attires as a sign of preserving and promoting their own culture and identity. He said he believes that there will be a positive change in our society in the next 10-20 years.
He was speaking during the 9th Foundation Day of South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) held here today at Lamyanba Sanglen. The event was held to celebrate the 3417th anniversary of the era of Maliyapham Palcha the then King of Manipur who started an era 3417 years ago.
SEACO general secretary Konthoujam Ibochouba Kha-Nganba said that we need to be cautious as globalization affects the life of the people.(UNI)
