Imphal, May 21 : All eyes are set on May 23 for counting of votes in Manipur for two Parliamentary seats.

Election officials have prepared 34 counting halls. All counting agents of all candidates have been asked to be present before 8 am so that counting can start exactly at 8 am. Prohibitory orders were enforced around all counting halls.

No one except those authorised by Election Commission will be allowed to enter the counting halls. About 37 companies of central forces and 3000 state security personnel will be on duty in three different tiers on the counting day.Movement of vehicles will also not be allowed around the counting halls.All arrangements have been completed for counting of votes of both Inner Manipur PC and Outer Manipur PC and three-tier security arrangement has been put in place at all counting centres.

CCTV cameras would be installed on all routes where EVMs would be transported. There would be one ECI observer for each counting hall and they have already arrived at the state capital, informed the CEO.Both seats are currently occupied by Congress.
