Thane, May 30 : Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Dr Suhas Pednekar on Saturday said the educational institutions can play a vital role in the present crisis that has arisen on account of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Pednekar said this while inaugurating the five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) organised by an educational institution here.
The five-day Faculty Development Programme is titled “Evolution from Offline to Online Teaching”. He stressed on the need for resilience and adaptability in this time of uncertainty and added that educational institutions can play a vital role in any crisis situation.
Dr Pednekar congratulated Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College for coming up with this innovative FDP and also appreciated them for capacity building of the teachers and changing their mindset at large. He said, ''We are in an era of blended and hybrid learning. E-content development should be good and innovative.'' A record 27,120 participants have registered for the event.
The total number of attendees for YouTube Live and Facebook has crossed 16000, which is also a new world record said one of the organisers from Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College. Teachers, educators, and trainers from 22 countries are also attending the FDP, including those from countries such as the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman, Canada, Iran, Qatar, Taiwan, Uganda, Peru, Bangladesh, etc. (UNI)
