Union Bank donates Rs 30 lakh to Maha CM's Relief Fund

Mumbai, May 28 : The Union Bank of India officials and employees have donated Rs 30 lakh to the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund COVID-19, to fight the battle against Novel Coronavirus. According to an official statement, Bank Regional General Manager M Venkatesh handed over the demand draft to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday.

Rajiv Mishra, General Manager of the Bank and Ashok Das, Deputy General Manager of Mumbai branch, were present on the occasion. Various measures are being taken by the state government to combat the 'Corona' crisis. However, due to the magnanimity of the crisis, many NGOs, entrepreneurs, religious organisations and financial institutions are coming forward with the state government to tackle the crisis. For this, the state government has opened a separate bank account called 'Mukhyamantri Sahayyata Nidhi-Covid-19'. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has appealed to organisations and individuals from various sectors of the society to contribute for the cause, the statement added. (UNI)
