Beed, May 28 : After it came to the notice of administration that a COVID-19 positive patient has infected many people in the city and its 12 surrounding villages, collector Rahul Rekhawar has imposed a complete curfew under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) from Thursday till afternoon of June 4.
Moreover, to prevent its recurrence, containment zones have been declared in all these concerned areas, the order stated. The patient, hailing from Karegaon in Patoda taluka, was found infected with the coronavirus and while investigating him, he came in direct and indirect contact with a large number of people in the Beed city and in some rural areas surrounding it, according to a report by the district Health officer.
Therefore, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus in other places of the district, the entire city and the Khandala, Charhata, Palwan villages in Beed taluka, Vaijala and Dongarkinhi in Patoda taluka, Devdi in Wadwani taluka, Khandvi in Georai taluka, Madalmohi and Dharvanta, Kharmata in Kaij taluka and Pargaon in Dharur taluka, the order stated .
During these eight days, it is prohibited to go out of the house till 1200 hours on June 4. However, medical services, newspapers and media services will be available 24 hours a day, No one will be allowed to enter or leave the city of Beed during this period without a special permission.
