Pune police help about 37,861 reach their native town

Pune, May 23 : About 37,861 migrant workers, citizens and students who were stuck here during lockdown have reached home safely, Pune police informed.

In the next two days, many more special trains from the district are scheduled to leave for various districts in different states, Pune Police commissioner Dr K Venketesham said in a statement.

“As on May 22, 37,861 migrant labourers, students stranded people from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Uttarakhand and other states were sent back through various special shramik trains,'' said Joint police commissioner Ravindra Shisve. (UNI)
