Aurangabad, May 19: Aurangabad civic body administrator Astik Kumar Pandey on Tuesday regularised timings during which essentials shops can function from May 21 onwards. Owing to the wide COVID-19 footprint in this district, Divisional Commissioner Sunil Kendrekar had ordered stringent curbs so as to contain further spread of the pandemic.
Barring medical shops, Kendrekar suspended all activities in the city, which has recorded 1,073 cases so far. Subsequently, there were no relaxations for Aurangabad when the fourth phase of the lockdown was extended till May end. Considering woes of the citizens, now decision has been taken that foodgrains and vegetable shops will be allowed to run between 7 am and 1 pm.(UNI)
