Hingoli, May 17 : Eight new COVID-19 cases, all of whom are Mumbai returnees, were detected here on Sunday, said District Civil Surgeon Kishor Prasad Shrivas. Upon their return to this district, these patients were kept at a quarantine center in Wasmat, he said, adding that their swab samples were sent for testing. The reports, confirming them to be COVID-19 positive, were received today.
With the new additions, the district's pandemic tally now stands at 99. But, out of the total tally, 84 persons have been given discharge after being cured of the contagion. Among the infected individuals were mostly CRPF jawans who had returned here from their postings in hotspots. As most of the patients were getting recovered, Hingoli was eyeing a glimmer of hope for being tagged as Green Zone. However, the prospect now dwindles as these new cases have propped up. (UNI)
