Aurangabad: All activities suspended as COVID-19 count increases

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), May 15 : Aurangabad Divisional Commissioner Sunil Kendrekar has ordered suspension of all activities, except essential services, in this district owing to the widening COVID-19 footprint. The city's civic body administrator Astik Kumar Pandey tweeted, "We are doing 100 per cent lockdown till May 17th, 12am. All passes suspended till further notice. Only Essential Goods and Services related Government Employees will attend their Duties."

He added that the city would have been already closed on May 15 and 17, which are odd dates, but now there will be a lockdown on May 16 too. Meanwhile, Lead Bank District Manager Shrikant Karegaonkar has also issued a circular stating that city branches will remain shut. Presently, the district has 823 confirmed cases, out of which, 212 are cured while 20 others have died. (UNI)
