Three more COVID-19 patients die in Thane

Thane, May 12: Three more patients died from COVID-19 in the city on Monday, including a driver of an MLC, whose wife also tested positive and is now being treated at a hospital in Mumbai, taking total number of deaths in city to 29. On Monday a total of 40 people tested positive for coronavirus, taking the tally of positive cases in the city to 752, Thane civic body's PRO Sandeep Malavi told newsmen here. Among those testing positive, the Lokmanya-Savarkar Nagar, Wagle and Mumbra wards recorded more than 100 cases, with the Lokmanya-Savarkar Nagar topping the list with 178 cases.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old COVID-19 positive patient, under treatment in a hospital at Nalla Sopara of the district, allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping from the third floor of the hospital building, and fractured his leg in the process, police said. (UNI)
