Mumbai, May 11: Maharashtra on Sunday reported 1,278 more cases of novel coronavirus taking the total number of infections in the state to 22,171. "With 53 fresh deaths, the death toll now stands at 832", Health Minister Rajesh Tope said.
Sunday's death toll included 33 men and 20 women, he said, adding that 19 deaths were reported from Mumbai,14 from Malegaon, five each from Pune and Jalgaon, two each from Dhule urban and rural one each from Aurangabad, Nandurbar, Solapur, Pimpri Chinchwad, Vasai Virar and one death of an MP patient in Mumbai.
Tope further said that till date 2,38,776 swab samples have been collected for investigation of which 2,15,903 were tested as negative and 22,171 were tested as positive. A total of 4,199 patients were cured and discharged across the state so far, he further said. At present 2,44,327 persons were advised to be under home quarantine and 14,465 were kept in different isolation places for quarantine, he stated. He added that out of 22,171 positive patients 13,739 patients were alone from Mumbai with 508 deaths. (UNI)
