Thane, May 5: Concerned over a growing number of the COVID-19 cases in the Corporation areas, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi on Tuesday announced a total ban on entry of those, working outside KDMC limits, into the city. In a recorded message, he said that as of today total 224 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the KDMC limits.
Of them, 73 were found to be working in Mumbai and 28 others who came in contact with them, taking the total to 101. These people were working in various establishments in Mumbai like Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, hospitals, police, companies, banks, and so on. "I am aware that in the most difficult conditions they are giving their services in Mumbai, we respect that.
As the cases in the KDMC are on the rise, it has created an atmosphere of fear among the citizens of Kalyan-Dombivli.The safety of the family members of these people, who go to work is also an issue. Hence we have requested their establishments to make arrangements for their stay in places, like hotels, near their places of work. "We have been informed that the BMC is making arrangement for its employees near their place of work. In the same way, other establishments should also make arrangements of stay for their employees, DrSuryavanshi added. (UNI)
